In early September, 2004, I drove alone to Yellowstone National Park. Two others were originally scheduled to go with me, but both found it necessary to cancel. Though the journey itself, from central TX to northwest WY, was more tiring than I had anticipated, once I was in the vicinity, seeing the Grand Teton Mountains, somewhat to the south of Yellowstone itself, and then the wildlife, rivers, canyons, hills, lakes, and geyser or hot spring fields of our nation's oldest national park, I forgot my fatigue and was captivated by this special region.

I hope the pictures I have selected, representative of the time I spent near or in Yellowstone, convey my appreciation for the drama and beauty of the area as well as for the uniqueness of its features.
